Bayview Recreational Center
City of Norfolk. Norfolk,Virginia

This project involved providing Programming, schematic design, design development, working drawings, cost estimating and construction administration services for a new 16,000 square foot Community Recreation Center in the Bayview area of Norfolk, Virginia. From the start the project involved various city agencies consisting of Parks and Recreation, Public Schools, City Reviewing Agencies and various citizen groups to help define the required spaces and identify various community needs. These were translated into a working program that identified the various building components and relationships. the building consists of a full gymnasium with 6 basketball backstops, game room, multipurpose room, meeting room with kitchen and restrooms. This project was connected to the existing elementary school by a glass enclosed corridor.
